Ian Blyth

Ian trained in traditional photography at the prestigious Falmouth College of Arts, where he gained his degree in Photographic Communication. The course emphasis was on lighting and composition, with all results being obtained in camera. Ian began his career at Metro Imaging, responsible for quality control which meant checking the films, transparencies and contact sheets for some of the UK's leading artists and photographers. This amalgamation of skills meant he was soon receiving freelance commissions and quickly begun experimenting with digital cameras and the related software. After working for several years on commercial shoots, Ian started to devote more time to his personal work, undertaking exhibitions sponsored by such bodies as the Arts Council. As technology progressed, so did Ian's capabilities, and he made a natural diversification into moving image; primarily shooting and editing short films for commercial clients. Ian's training, experience, technological knowledge and creativity means he can lend his hand to a variety of projects, from commercial through to community focused.
