River Lee Navigation

Between Ponders End Locks and Tottenham Locks, the landscape surounding the River Lee Navigation undergoes a transition from the rural to the industrial. The water ignores its surroundings, flowing from open countryside and under the North Circular, that leaves its indelible mark on the water and its edges in a tide of rubbish and soot. North of the road, under the tunnel of interconnecting slip roads the green side stops, while the south side sits grey and imposing with the A406 acting as the barrier to keep the city from expanding.
